the walking social
Are you interested in our groups but have a little one under 2? This is our newest group for younger families just starting their journey with BRE. We provide nature walk groups that are short and to the point with story time, music, and socialization.

in-person learning groups
Learn more about our in-person groups offering meetups weekly for age 2 and up. Various locations, times, and group settings depending on your child’s age and needs. Includes nature-inspired lessons, music, art, and play!

Curriculum
Our nature-based curriculum was created to help empower caregivers in their child’s education. It provides easy-to-follow mini-lessons that use literature, art, cooking, and exploration as their foundations.

We offer a modern approach to your traditional outdoor forest schools. Offering a variety of programs and curricula designed for young children during their most important time of development.
nature inspired
We are a nature-inspired program founded on children strengthening gross and fine motor skills, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and growth through everyday play and exploration of their outdoor environments.
developmentally appropriate
Our curriculum contains easy-to-follow activities to engage your child in learning different nature-based themes. Activities that can be easily modified to complement your child’s developmental level. We are also able to change and modify our in-person programs according to the needs of our families each semester.
parent-child centered
Our curriculum and groups are designed to help the primary caregiver feel empowered to create special and memorable moments of learning. A place where they can feel safe, and free of judgment while encouraging their child’s learning journey.
Meet the founder
Katie Bearden was born and raised in the Reno Tahoe area. She founded Beautiful Roots Education after witnessing beautiful moments in her daughter’s learning around nature!
