Frequently asked questions

  • Our groups consist of music and finger play, art-inspired activities, a story or literature component, time for exploring or engaging in nature, and opportunities to learn hands-on about a variety of nature themes.

While each group is run mostly the same way, we allow the teachers to use their expertise and training to adjust and redirect the groups in a manner that makes more sense. We honor the fact each child is at different developmental levels and we want to find ways that encourage learning and growth within all families.

  • Our groups are held outdoors at various locations. Dressing your child comfortably enough to move around is best. The teachers are also required to inform families of any odd needs each week. For instance, if it rains and there is a lot of mud, the teachers may inform families that day to bring rain boots or a change of clothes. If a child is more comfortable running around barefoot, we also encourage you to lose the shoes to help with foot development.

  • We only expect you to bring yourself and your child! All supplies and materials are provided for your group. A water bottle is also recommended, especially for warmer days.

  • We know that each child has their own eating schedule. However, we do ask families to try to feed their children a well-balanced snack before and after the group.

We do not allow food in groups, except for lessons including a food component, due to a variety of possible allergies and food restrictions.

However, if a child is having a hard time waiting, we ask you to honor their need and find a place to feed them safely away from other children and make sure it is an allergy-free item.

Hangry toddlers are no joke, but so is the safety of our families.

  • It's important for you and your child to feel safe and welcome in the group. If there is ever a time or moment when this is not happening, we ask you to bring it up with your teacher right away so it can be handled accordingly.

If you are unhappy or have any concerns regarding your group’s teacher or teaching abilities, we ask you to bring it forward to the director as soon as possible so she can make the appropriate changes.

Contact information for both your group teacher and BRE’s Director, Katie Bearden, are found on your parent handbook sent out at the beginning of your semester. You can also directly email Katie at beautifulrootseducation@gmail.com

  • Registration takes place twice a year unless a summer session is added. Then registration will take place three times.

Registration is released to current families enrolled in our programs first.

Once their deadline to complete enrollment has passed, then we release the registration to the public.

Registration is based on available spots. We do our best to try and get as many of you in a group and sometimes will add additional groups if the need is high.

Registration will take place in Winter for the Spring session, Summer for Fall, and late Spring if a Summer session is offered.

Staying connected on our Instagram and checking our website regularly is your best chance to know when spots have been released.

Currently we are not excepting waitlists.
