little wanderers
our program
weekly
Little Wanderers is for 2 to 3 years of age. We meet weekly for 1 hour to engage in a nature-based topic. From colors to the ocean, your child will have the opportunity to explore outside while learning side by side with other little ones.
literature Focus
Each week includes a literature component like a story or poem. Designed to encourage critical thinking and language development.
art based
Each meet-up includes a fun corresponding craft to complete the lesson. Using materials found in nature alongside some age-appropriate materials, children will engage their creative spirit with open-ended sensory play.
basic foundational skills
While exploring, children will encourage the use of gross and fine motor skills. They will also learn colors, shape, and language development, through song and movement, and sensory play.
parent-child centered
Our Little Wanderers is a parent and child-centered program. We encourage learning alongside your child to create memories and optimal teaching moments. Meaning- the parent is present and there to engage their child in learning during group time.
“Katie and the Beautiful Roots Education is such a wonderful group that has a purposeful, facilitated approach focused on self-directed outdoor learning. Classes are held at local parks where kids and their parents can interact with others, helping with socialization. I love that it gives me one on one time with my daughter.
Katie thinks of such creative things to do that I otherwise wouldn’t have thought of doing on my own.
Katie is very creative in the lessons she creates and we love the beautiful handmade gifts the kids bring home daily. Beautiful roots make us slow down and take in that extra time with our littles and enjoy the beauty in the simple things the outdoors have to offer. Thanks, Katie!”
