Explorers

our program

weekly

This group is for children who are older, missed the cut-off for kindergarten, have previously been in our Little Sprouts group for a full semester, or are families looking for an extension to their homeschooling. We meet weekly for 1.5-2 hours. Our semester contains a theme like Into the Wild or Bodies of Water.

literature Focus

Each week includes a literature component. From a story to a poem, children will hear about a variety of topics while engaging in discussion. Designed to encourage critical thinking, social-emotional development, and language expansion.

art based

Each meet-up includes a fun corresponding craft, or two, to complete the lesson using materials found in nature, alongside some age-appropriate materials. Children will engage their creative spirit with open-ended art projects and home-based assignments.

parent promoting child learning

Our Explorers group is an optional parent-child group. This means parents can drop their child off during group. This allows the child to practice separation and independent learning. One parent must stay each week, allowing the parent to not only learn ways in which to encourage their own Child’s learning but the learning of other children.

basic pre kinder skills

While exploring fun themes each semester, children will encourage the use of gross and fine motor skills through art and play. They will also strengthen their knowledge of letter recognition and sounds, shapes, counting and number recognition, writing skills, and critical thinking. This class is designed to help your child get ready for kindergarten.

“This group turned out to be better than I had anticipated. My child went from having no interest in letters, to really wanting to learn them! I love how creative each week has been and the practicality of the lessons. My child loved the lesson on fire safety and going to the fire station.”
