hedgehog week

What better way to continue our study on hibernation than talking about these cute little creatures? Hedgehogs are such a fun topic for younger children. Not only do they have very cool quills, but they roll up into balls for protection.

We allowed the children to engage in some descriptive language building by describing what a hedgehog would feel like. We also practiced some creativity and fine motor skills by going on a nature hunt to find materials we could use for our hedgehog masterpieces.

By the end, we admired each individual’s work by giving wonderful feedback and comments to the kiddos. Being able to make connections on how each one was unique like them.
